Aim/Objective: To demonstrate that chlorophyll is essential for photosynthesis by testing for the presence of starch in variegated leaves.
Materials Required:
Safety First: Fire Hazard Never heat alcohol directly over an open flame. Alcohol is highly inflammable and can catch fire instantly. Always use a Water Bath (a beaker of water with the alcohol test tube/beaker placed inside it) to heat alcohol. Keep a fire extinguisher or a wet cloth nearby.
