1. Classroom Opener (The Invisible Air)

Demonstration: Blow up a balloon in front of the class, but don't tie it. Let it go so it flies around the room making a noise.
Ask: "What was inside the balloon that made it fly around?"
Concept: Air is all around us. We can't see it, but we can feel it, and we need it to breathe.

2. Core Concepts: What We Need to Live

A. Air

All living things (plants, animals, humans) need air to breathe.
Moving air is called wind. Wind helps dry our clothes and fly kites.

B. Water

We need water to drink, bathe, wash clothes, and cook.
Plants need water to grow. Animals need water to drink.
Rule: We must never waste water!

C. Shelter (Houses)

A house protects us from rain, heat, cold, and wild animals.
Types of houses:
- Kutcha house: Made of mud, straw, and leaves (often found in villages).
- Pucca house: Made of bricks, cement, and steel (strong houses in towns and cities).

3. Classroom Activity: Sink or Float (Water Observation)

Prep: A transparent bowl of water. A few objects (a coin, an eraser, a dry leaf, a plastic spoon, a pebble).

The Task:

Show the class an object. Ask them to predict: "Will it sink (go down) or float (stay on top)?"
Drop it in.
This introduces observation-based scientific testing without using complicated vocabulary.

4. Assessment Check (Oral & Short Response)

Scenario Question: "Imagine it is raining very hard outside. Which is a safer place to be: a Kutcha house made of straw or a Pucca house made of bricks? Why?"
Look for the reasoning: "Bricks are stronger than straw."
