NCF Learning Outcome: Identifies where plants grow; names parts they can see (leaf, flower).

1. Classroom Opener (The Missing Part)

Activity: Draw a simple plant on the board, but intentionally leave off the roots and the leaves (just draw a stem and a flower).
Ask: "What is missing from my plant?"
Invite students to come to the board and draw the missing parts.
Concept: Every plant has specific parts, even if we can't always see them (like roots under the dirt!).

2. Core Concepts: Looking Closer at Plants

A. Where do plants grow?

Plants can grow almost anywhere!
In Soil: Most plants grow in the ground (trees, grass, roses).
In Water: Some plants only grow in lakes or ponds (Lotus, Water Lily).

B. Parts We Can See

Leaf: Usually green, they come in many shapes. (Review from Class 1).
Flower: The colorful, pretty part of the plant that smells good.
Stem: The long green or brown stick that holds the plant up.

C. Parts We Cannot See

Roots: Hidden under the soil. They hold the plant tight in the dirt.

3. Classroom Activity: The Plant Scavenger Hunt

Prep: A small checklist for each student (Drawings of: A green leaf, a yellow flower, a thick stem, a seed).

The Task:

Take the class outside to the garden.
They must try to find one of each item on their list in the real world.
Rule: They cannot pick the flowers or leaves! They just point them out to the teacher.

4. Assessment Check (Drawing & Labeling)

Task: "Draw a flower in a pot. Point an arrow to the Stem and the Leaf and write their names." (Checks if they can correctly map the vocabulary to the visual structure).
