Diseases (Symptoms & Control)

Bacterial

  • Cholera:
    • Symptoms: Watery diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration.
    • Control: Drinking clean water, eating properly cooked food, and washing hands frequently.
  • Typhoid:
    • Symptoms: Fever, headache, and abdominal pain.
    • Control: Drinking clean water, eating properly cooked food, and getting vaccinated.
  • Tuberculosis:
    • Symptoms: Cough, fever, and weight loss.
    • Control: Getting vaccinated, avoiding contact with infected people, and taking antibiotics.

Viral

  • AIDS:
    • Symptoms: Weakened immune system, weight loss, and fever.
    • Control: Using condoms, avoiding contact with infected blood, and taking antiretroviral drugs.
  • Chickenpox:
    • Symptoms: Itchy rash, fever, and headache.
    • Control: Getting vaccinated and avoiding contact with infected people.
  • Hepatitis:
    • Symptoms: Jaundice, fatigue, and abdominal pain.
    • Control: Getting vaccinated, avoiding contact with infected blood, and practicing safe sex.

Protozoan

  • Malaria:
    • Symptoms: Fever, chills, and sweating.
    • Control: Using mosquito nets, wearing protective clothing, and taking antimalarial drugs.
  • Amoebic Dysentery:
    • Symptoms: Bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain, and fever.
    • Control: Drinking clean water, eating properly cooked food, and washing hands frequently.
  • Sleeping Sickness:
    • Symptoms: Fever, headache, and confusion.
    • Control: Avoiding tsetse fly bites and taking medication.

Helminthic

  • Ascariasis:
    • Symptoms: Abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea.
    • Control: Washing hands frequently, eating properly cooked food, and taking medication.
  • Taeniasis:
    • Symptoms: Abdominal pain, nausea, and weight loss.
    • Control: Eating properly cooked meat and taking medication.
  • Filariasis:
    • Symptoms: Swelling of the limbs, fever, and chills.
    • Control: Using mosquito nets, wearing protective clothing, and taking medication.
